Jun 1989 - Feb 1993Systems ManagerStarted a software house as founder member, with only one client, for whom we automated their General Ledger, Inventory & Sales processes. Gradually clientele increased to 24, when I left this software house for a career job at “AKU”. During my last year at this software house, I was leading a team of 3 programmers, and my title was “Systems Manager”. Unfortunately this software house closed its business in 2 years time, after I left.

Mar 1993 - Jun 2013• I was looking after a team of 5 staff that includes programmers and team leads. • I was responsible to assist almost every hospital department for the automation of their respective business processes with process reengineering, wherever required. • At the time of my separation, there were 40 different software application solutions that were running for these departments under my domain.• Worked as Project Manager to implement AKU based HIS & PeopleSoft Financials systems at ;o French Medical Institute for Children (FMIC) Kabul, Afghanistan during Oct 2009 – April 2010o Four (4) Aga Khan Secondary Hospitals, in Hyderabad and Karachi, Pakistan during July 2010 – Feb 2011.o Project scope included was application training, business process orientation, H/W and N/W setup, and rollover to new systems. • Also conducted 5 days training sessions on “Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)” by Project Management Institute (PMI). This is a pre-requisite for Project Management certification from PMI.• Lead a team that implemented PeopleSoft Supply Chain modules and PeopleSoft Asset Management system at AKU.Earlier on i successfully implemented Hospital Information Systems at 4 Secondary Hospitals in Pakistan, and 1 in Afghanistan, as Project Manager.jEarlier than this, I successfully implemented People Soft Supply Chain Management and Asset Management Systems at My organization. Show less I was selected as one of the two team leads entrusted to work as project team leads for software migration project. As a software designer I was responsible for the overall design of the systems, and with my team, I designed 3 major applications out of 36 candidate applications, in 4 years time. Migration of Pharmacy system with Physician Order Entry was my major project.During this project I also conducted training sessions on “Object Oriented Analysis & Design” of software, based on newly acquired software development methodology, namely Rational Unified Process (RUP). All software staff attended these training sessions.I used department tools that included Rational Unified Process for software development Process. I got training from Rational in Singapore about how to do Requirement Management and Software Analysis and Design, using Rational Tools. Show less Besides regular maintenance and enhancements in software applications, major achievement of this period was Year-2000 (Y2K) related activities. I was member of a team who has worked on this project. I did my part by modifying applications related to MMD, HR, Payroll, and FIN to work correctly in year 2000.Leading 3 programmers, I was working with MMD, HR, Payroll & AKU & IED Library staff for their automation needs. Earlier, I was engaged with this institution as Project Manager, working for Addvantum Innovative Technologies (AIT).• At that time, it was named as “Al Bayan Colleges”, and later-on, in Feb 2017, this institution got its University Charter, and renamed as “University of Prince Mugrin Bin Abdelaziz (UPM)”.• Immediately after joining, I looked after the admission and enrollment phase for the very first batch of students of the institution, with one man “Registration Office”, working with lots of hats, and 3 men IT Staff. The management staff was not sufficient, and everybody is discharging more than one responsibility.• AIT project for implementation of PeopleSoft Campus Solution, EBS Financials and HR was put on hold in June 2014, due to lack of staff and responses from Al Bayan Colleges.• During my tenure, here I successfully re-started this project representing the client, and completed implementation of PeopleSoft Campus Solution (all modules).• Although EBS Financials and HR implementation is complete by now (technically) but the staff is struggling with the system, and we were managing these aspects as well.• Although my position was “Application Manager”, but due to lack of staff, I was working at almost all levels, from Helpdesk to Training, managing user requests, helping management understand the system, and setting up of processes and procedures, with due documentation.
