    • Applied Materials

      Sept 1992 - Mar 2005
      ME IV

I was primarily an MfgE, but also some Design work. many times, in house or field, I seemed to be a resource for solving big problems, no matter what division needed the help.-On original team that brought Endura to Austin, and, helped Facilities for new building designs, including first bridge cranes. Notable cycle time reduction of 5500 Mainframe assembly and test to 14 hours.- original creator of the ECO checklist.- Rewrote Workmanship Standards while with AKT, then pulled an Austin team together to learn how to teach it, primarily to new hires, and groom it.-Transition team for AKT 1600 to Austin along with material cost reductions by design improvements for Load Lock and Heat Chambers, as well as significant cycle time reduction and low cost, effective fixture designs.-A notable victory was working with EWAL on the adaptation and creation of the semiconductor grade contoured gasket, with color coded, removable retainers, for gas lines that virtally eliminated 98% or more first time failures of VCR gas line connections.-Designed Modular Power for 300mm, and, per the Safety group, had the first AC power design to ever pass 3rd Party Safety in the first pass, plus, first fully outsourced AC cabinents, eliminating a work center.-lead MfgE on IPS system transition to Austin-Helped Leybold create the dry pump UL 500.-introduced ultrasonic, etch finishing for Aluminum chamber bodies to the SPE group-introduced the molded-in seal for 300mm slit valves as well as the inventing of the proper Captive O-ring groove.-Mentored concepts of cycle time reduction to Etch Final Test Engineering, which lead to a standard 10 day cycle.- when requested, I came back to work for about 8 months in about 2010/11 in the new 200mm refurb workcenter, as a test tech. My team knocked out 3 Etch systems in 5 weeks, and in great working order that made the customer happy.. Show less

    • Williams Brothers Model Products

      Apr 2005 - now
      President

with 1 great employee that is truly treated as an asset, we manufacture, in the USA, plastic injected model aircraft kits and accessories for flying models. We run ABS, PS, TPE, and some Nylon. Learned Injection mold machines on my own (lot easier than semi machines) and even innovated a mold making concept that seems to be new to the mold makers, and it works well. I do all machine repairs as well, from circuit board level to hydraulics or electrical. Built the steel building we're in myself as well- another new experience. Designed my first molds and put a new product into production this past year. Now learning CNC machining processes, Laser, and rapid prototype processes. Show less
