      Jun 2016 - Aug 2017
      Automation Engineer Intern

During the summer of 2016 and 2017, I held a position as an automation engineer intern. I wrote and uploaded ladder logic code for programmable logic controllers (PLCs), designed several robotic arm components and drew dozens of existing automation components using SolidWorks. Furthermore, I increased technical communication skills by consulting with machinists and gained hands-on experience by learning how to fabricate robotic components using computer numeric control machines, lathes, and band saws as well as installing/repairing such components. Lastly, I product tested tensile strength, capillary permeability, and adhesive ability of horticulture containers. Show less

    • University of Mount Union

      May 2017 - Aug 2020

For the past two years, I have graded homework and laboratory reports for Mechanics of Materials and Statics & Dynamics courses. As a residential assistant, I utilized leadership skills and experience while supervising a residence hall of over forty students. I was able to enforce college policies and resolve conflict utilizing ethics and diversity training.

Process Engineer Intern - Continuous Improvement Team

While working with the Continuous Improvement Team during the summer of 2018, I maximized the efficiency of plastic injection molds by running a statistical design of experiments (DOE's) using Minitab saving the company at least $600,000 annually. I also conducted material analysis on polypropylene plastics such as impact testing, measuring gage thickness, calculating delta E (color measurement), and running Excel-based statistics on hundreds of samples for company research and development. Furthermore, I reduced machine failures by creating a Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) Excel file using VBA. Lastly, I submitted weekly project report outs for the company CEO and board of directors. Show less

      May 2019 - Aug 2019
      Research And Development Engineer

During the summer of 2019, I was a part of the Research and Development team for Johns Manville. A few projects I was responsible for was automating continuous strand fiberizing bushing design through SolidWorks Product Data Management (PDM), Solving thermal/structural problems using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and presenting weekly project report outs for company CEO and board of directors. A notable accomplishment includes submitting an Intellectual Properties protection form for a safety fixture design concept that enabled operators to test the tensile strength of various samples on an Instron Tensile Testing Machine. I also built a 3D printer for R&D purposes, welded precious metals, and recorded manufacturing processes using Oculus Goggles. Show less
