  Worked as part of a small team of consultants installing and supporting different companies ranging from small charities that do not have an IT department or a network and rely totally on the company I work for to run their networks, through to large companies or charities that just need occasional advice on aspects of their software and networks. This consists of advising clients on how they can improve the way they work and making recommendations based on their requirements. It also involves supporting the clients and planning installations of new software and equipment and working closely installing and being on hand to support the software and hardware that is installed. It also involves consulting with external companies such as database companies and assisting in managing their software and making sure any installation involving other companies runs smoothly.   Whilst at the college I was employed to guide students that had just left school and mature students through City and Guilds courses in Visual Basic, Web Design and Networking. I was involved in marking coursework and exams and preparing materials to go of to the exam board for verification. Other duties included interviewing some of the students applying for the course and covering other lecturers that were not able to attend there lectures or observing lessons.

  Network Engineer

  Working as one of the computer engineers I spend most of my time out the office travelling around fixing different hardware and software problems that cannot be solved by the helpdesk. When not out the office, I also spend some time helping on the helpdesk remotely supporting clients using various remote access tools such as Dameware or Gotoassist. Spend the time in a range of clients ranging from schools to factories up to large multisite networks. This involves a lot of work liaising with customers and managing projects with other members of staff, customers and third party companies as well. This also involves managing my time during the day to meet customer SLA's and letting the office know if things are likely to overrun or there is more work than what is expected to finish work so they are able to rearrange calls if they need to.
