Using this application the user can handle all credit/debit/combo card applications. This system also handles all types of transactions and authorizations of a card. The card application system is integrated with some other third party systems like Gemalto, Asiakaseto etc. A customer who has an account in the bank can apply for a card. Based on the customer SSN, the Core Banking System (CBS) will sends a list of recommended Card Products for the customer. Once a Card application is submitted, it needs some sort of approval and the Card Number will be generated using the Card Creation Algorithm. The approved card application will be send to Gemalto for the plastic creation. Once the response file comes back from Gemalto, the Card will be activated. The Customer can also apply for supplementary cards if required.
