  As part of my mandatory service in the Greek army at the 1st Army Aviation Brigade Unit and the Supply and Transport Corps. www.army.gr • Responsible for lubricant analysis used in army aircraft/helicopters and vehicles. The objective of the program was to predict fatigue in parts through the analysis of the lubricants using an atomic emission spectrometer.   Production Supervisor / Process Engineer (Chemical Engineer)

  The Alapis Group is a major manufacturer and distributor of pharmaceutical and cosmetic products for the Greek and European market. The Atalanti plant was involved in Laundry Powder/Liquid Detergent manufacturing and Sulphonation. http://www.alapis.eu/ Reported to the Production ManagerHighlights:• 20% production increase of a major brand product.• Proposed continuous improvements/adjustments to the production line reducing the product preparation time.Responsibilities:• Supervised the 3 shift production process leading a team of 21 people (7 persons per shift). • Managed the production of 3,000 metric tons/per month powder detergents (over 40 different products).• Reduced production delays by 90% and eliminated unnecessary stops by supervising the flow of raw materials in the production line on a daily basis.• Implemented and monitored ISO 9001:2008 and 14001:2008 management systems.• Managed BOMs for existing and new products in SAP environment.• Participated in developing new products for existing and new customers. Performing all duties required to ensure the safe, efficient running of the Domestic Production Lines to produce quality product in a cost-effective manner - including operating Bartelt packagers and associated casepackers. My main duties include:- Operating Bartelt machine(s) including peripheral fillers, (may operate two machines simultaneously) keeping watch for any malfunctions. - Responsible for maintaining quality and quantity of pouches as set by Quality Assurance and by Packaging Production Standards. - Performing SPC functions (weight/quality checks) every 15 minutes or hour depending on theline to ensure ingredient fills are maintained within standards. - Checking ingredient and total pouch weights and adjusts the controls as required to ensureadherence to standards - Clearing jams on machine as required. - Performing certain mechanical adjustments on Packaging lines. - Performing additional duties to ensure the smooth and continuous operation of the line(s). Show less This was a 3 month co-op (volunteer) placement at the Unilever dry food production plant. During this time period I reported to the QA Supervisor and some of my duties were:- Performing laboratory tests such as: basic chemistry and microbiological analysis on ingredients, process and finished product samples.- Collecting environmental, ingredient, process and finished product samples at various locations throughout the Plant.- Routinely monitored Quality Control Points (product attributes, labeling, employee GMP’s, ingredient storage conditions, etc.).- Coordinated sampling requirements (raw ingredients, etc.) with other Plant Departments and document results of analytical testing.- Entered quality data and information into designated system where test results, audit findings and other data are securely stored and preserved (e.g. SAP)- Maintained and disseminated shop floor information (operator instructions, photo attributes, etc.).- Conducted routine product evaluations (cuttings) with production employees.- Communicated pertinent quality information to other Plant Departments when appropriate.
