      Jun 2017 - Sept 2019
      Food Server

During my A level studies I worked at a local pub in the Yorkshire Dales. This role involved guiding guests through dining room and providing needed assistance. Here, I often worked in highly pressured environments. I Supported other areas of the restaurant in set up, clean-up, prep work and equipment maintenance. Furthermore, I identified items in stock for first use to decrease waste and profit loss. My main responsibility as a waiter was to welcome guests with a personable attitude and check on guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course. Show less

      Work Placement

During a period of work experience whilst studying for my A-level exams, I worked at a legal firm specialising in Property Law and Wills and Probate. This role involved me assisting a solicitor to ensure that he had all of the correct files up to date for his clients. This role also gave me the opportunity to engage in extra research on relevant legislative provisions and to sit in on meetings with clients. Doing this, gave me a taste of what working in practice is like. Here was where I first experienced a legal practice environment and was ultimately where my desire to work in this industry started. Oct 2019 - Mar 2020
      Food Runner

Upon moving to Newcastle for university, I started working at a Michelin Star restaurant (House of Tides). This job involved running food up to the restaurant during busy shifts, serving snacks in the bar area (prior to guests dining in the upstairs restaurant), helping bar and restaurant staff with tasks, and prepping the kitchen with the necessary equipment the kitchen staff needed for the shift. Overall, we as food runners were the cogs needed for the business to operate smoothly. This role significantly enhanced by people skills and gave me the opportunity to work in a team environment. On the 19th November 2022 I was an open day guide representing Newcastle University. I conducted tours in the Newcastle Law School to prospective students and gave them an insight into what studying law at Newcastle is like. During the final year of my undergraduate degree, I worked with Newcastle University as a student ambassador on one of the open days for speculative students. Here, I helped students and their families navigate their way around campus and provided insight into life at the university.
