  Student Researcher

  *Conducted independent research for professors in the Montana State University School of Arts to determine the mineralogy and morphology of the “wild clays” they worked with. *Prepared clay samples in accordance with USGS guidelines and utilized x-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy to analyze clay samples in order to determine the characteristics of each clay type. *Synthesized the mineralogic information into a comprehensive report suitable for ea non-geologist audience.

  Developed and taught educational programs for summer camps students aged 7-12. Topics included science, engineering, and history.

  *Successfully wrote a grant to acquire funding from the Undergraduate Scholars Program for one year of research.*Prepared soil samples in accordance with USGS guidelines then utilized gamma-ray spectroscopy to analyze the behavior of radionuclide fallout activity in soils with various characteristics.*Presented findings at the Earth Science Colloquium and Undergraduate Research Celebration in spring, 2018.

  *Identified severe issues with established data management at a new project, developed and executed new management processes, which led to the resolution of existing errors and negligible problems with future data.*Managed two rigs and logged core and chip trays for hydrologic and geotechnical properties to identify potential dewatering needs for an underground expansion of an open pit mine. *Created reports for environmental impact, drilling activities, and site operations in order to meet client and regulatory needs.   Silver Mountain Mining Operations

  *Designed and coordinated an underground sampling and mapping program to increase the resolution of ore body data, determine future drilling targets, and inform future investment opportunities. *Coordinated underground geologists, contractors, and drillers during preparation and start of underground drilling to ensure cohesive workflow and safe work areas. *Developed comprehensive guides on the lithology and alteration of a complex deposit to be used as future training material and as reference to encourage more consistent logging amongst geologists.*Contributed to the field work and completion of a report to explore the potential for other nearby ore deposits.
