      I started going to work with my Dad at age 5. At the age 8 I was installing plugs and switches with a yankee screwdriver while the house was energized. In that era Southern California Edison installed the meter after the rough stage of wiring and before drywall. The advantage of this was being able to fix any problems whether they be electrical or plumbing without having to cut open the drywall.
