  Program: Student program for advancement of research knowledge (SPARK)Guide: Dr. Anil Earnest (Senior scientist)Abstract : This project is dealing with a basic study on how spherical harmonic coefficient of gravitational potential can be used to study temporal variation of gravity and also trying to visualise and simultaneously trying to simply interpretate gravity variation in Sumatra Andaman region using Gravity Recovery and Climate experiment (GRACE) satellite mission data. GRACE measure gravity anomaly of the Earth primarily due to geofluid redistribution, they also resulted from mass displacement due to phenomenon like earthquake and post glacial rebound. In this project, first how spherical harmonic coefficient solution of gravity field can be useful for the study of temporal variation of gravity is studied. This is also the literature review part of this project. Study of different papers, thesis and website has been done for this purpose.The second part of this project is concerned with visualisation of co-seismic and post seismic gravity variation in Sumatra Andaman region using different solutions of GRACE mission using two different methods. Here solutions provided by CSR (Center for Space Research at University of Texas, Austin) is used. Both CSR GRACE spherical harmonic mascon solution release 6 and CSR geopotential coefficient data release 6 have been processed to visualize, though only the second one is the appropriate to study the co-seismic and post seismic gravity variation. For the whole process two different methods has been used; first, by using Python and its different libraries viz. Numpy, Pandas and Matplotlib and second by using different modules of Generic Mapping Tools.The last part of the project is totally concerned with the interpretation of the image that have processed. A simple interpretation has been done for co-seismic and post seismic gravity variation in that specific region. Show less

  I have been with all the four department of Geophysics in Oil India Ltd. 7 days each in Aquisition, Seismic processing and reservoir team and 5 days is Archival, data management and GIS section. Report title: Basics of seismic survey and its application in Oil & Gas industry1. Got the idea of basic theory part of Seismic survey. 2. Got the idea of how seismic data acquisition is done in the field. In this process, went to a camp and got the idea of different field equipment and how they works.3. Got the idea of each of the component of the processing flow chart and got a chance to work with Schlumberger Omega software. I have done coherent noise attenuation using this software.4. Got the idea of inversion and AVO analysis.5. Got the basic idea of GIS and it's importance in seismic survey.6. Got the idea of sesmic data management and it's archival and retrieval procedures.   International summer school

  The topic of the summer school was -' Principles of Earthquake location and its correlation with seismic network designs'. I was one of the few participants got selected to attend this prestigious summer school. It was organised just before the joint scientific assembly IAGA-IASPEI 2021. It was held on August 16-20,2021 in virtual mode. The summer school included both theory as well as hands on excercises.
