  During a summer while at university, I worked as a process operator on the factory floor that specialised in the manufacturer of tyres for trucks and other larger vehicles. Specifically, I was involved in the curing process, both in ensuring some of the automated production lines were functioning correctly and also in the manual assembly of the tyre bladders used in the tyre moulds.

  Deputy team leader of the Fuel Route Technical Advice Group at Heysham 2 Power Station:• Fault find urgent emergent issues that affect nuclear safety or plant production.• Design and implement engineering projects to address plant faults and/or obsolescence issues.• Issue engineering advice to the maintenance and operations departments.Previously spent 15 months in the Work Engineering Group at Torness Power Station:• Engineered packages of work to rectify plant defects• Assessed risks from a industrial and nuclear point of view prior to maintenance work commencing.• Provided engineering input to assist the AP-928 management of work process on site. Voir moins During my time on the EDF Energy graduate scheme I undertook five different attachments in different departments across several of EDF's sites. I was at Hunterston B power station in the Engineering, Maintenance and Technical & Safety departments, Torness power station for an attachment with the operations department and an attachment in the Electrical Engineering group at the offices in East Kilbride. Additionally while on the graduate scheme I had an opportunity to do a four week placement with Magnox to gain an appreciation of nuclear decommissioning which provided me with an interesting insight of an aspect of the industry that I had previously little experience of. Finally while on the scheme I was on a committee of graduates that organised a conference called "YGN Presents: an Introduction to Nuclear Power" (See my volunteering section for more information".
