    • Nokia

      Nov 2015 - now

As a seasoned leader in the learning sector at Nokia, I am at the forefront of shaping the future of optical technology education. With a robust team of dedicated professionals, including content developers, instructors, and specialists in auxiliary functions, I oversee the comprehensive learning portfolio for all optical products. This encompasses a wide range of courses, workshops, and exams designed to advance knowledge in optical equipment, standards, and technologies. My role involves meticulous oversight of the entire offering. This includes strategic definition of the course and certification portfolio, insightful management of the budget allocated for course development and delivery, and effective leadership of our multifaceted team. My commitment to excellence ensures that we not only meet but exceed expectations in providing top-tier educational experiences. I actively engage in promoting our courses and certifications at international events, where we not only showcase our innovative products but also conduct seminars to educate and inspire. My collaboration with Human Resources enhances our outreach by fostering valuable partnerships with schools and universities and leading innovation-driven projects aimed at exploring new markets. My responsibilities also extend to managing internal and external communications related to events, technical webinars, and socially relevant projects, ensuring a cohesive and impactful message is delivered across all channels.I am driven by a passion for continuous learning and innovation, committed to developing programs that empower individuals and organizations to thrive in the ever-evolving world of optical technologies. Show less I started the "Optical Network Certification" (ONC) program development in 2016, and I am now the line manager of the ONC team. I lead the program under all aspects, defining the certification tracks and related courses, as well as written/lab exams, and making sure the defined development milestones are achieved. A key task of my role is business development, achieved through the participation to important events (such as Wavelengths and SReXperts) where our customers can attend seminars, tutorials and demo of our products. My team takes care of delivering these sessions and collecting feedback, to promote our product and advertise the available certification options. The ONC program is designed to provide industry professionals with the training and skills needed to design, implement, and manage/maintain optical networks based on the Nokia 1830 portfolio and Nokia Network Service Platform (NSP). The key difference between this program and other, typical courses, is our special focus on the hands-on practice: if you get certified, that means that you do know how to deal with Nokia equipment. The program is made of four certification tracks and nine courses. In addition to lecture material, each course includes a large percentage of time for hands-on lab training and exercises to ensure participants gain strong working-level knowledge of the material. Course material and lab exercises are developed and delivered by Nokia optical technology subject matter experts. The main subjects of our courses involve optical network design, network management systems, mobile anyhaul solutions, optical L2 services, GMPLS-enabled networks, optical security, Data Center Interconnection (DCI) architectures, Optical Transport Networking concepts, etc. Show less I'm currently part of TEC (Technical Excellence Centre) WDM team, Optical Networks division. I play as 1830 3LS (3rd Level Support) Engineer, supporting our customers for high-level issues related with 1830 based networks. I deal with projects related with introduction, management and configuration of optic/electric transmission systems (WDM/SDH/Ethernet) in major customers’ networks. Typical activities are: products presentation in work-shop sessions, both test-plant and field demos (Italian and foreign customers), technical support, implementation of complex network solutions, validation/integration of several products, etc. I am fully responsible of the relationship with the customer under every aspect.
