  Autocad operator - summer intern

  The position was a summer internship for undergraduate students. The primary purpose of the status of AutoCAD operator is to provide quality of structural drawings using AutoCAD. The leading role of this position is to draw all conceptual/detailed structural designs under the supervision and guidance of the structural engineer. While working as a design drawing operator, I had to provide quality drawings and improve techniques that advance efficiency in the production of those drawings as it creates revenue by saving cost and time. It required me to check dimensions and provide associated drawings that meet project specifications. I drew plans, parts and sections of structures associated with the projects. During this experience, I had to draw very precisely by specifying dimensions and putting the work together to be closer to structural requirements. I also worked on the conceptual design and discussed my opinions on design views with my supervisor. This summer intern helped me to achieve the ability to demonstrate attention to detail and think methodically to design, plan and organise parts of projects. I attended many surveying events with other engineers and visited many constructions sites to meet with the construction process. It gave me a clear visual idea of how the structures are built.   I was a subject rep in total two terms of 12 months. I attended Student Staff Forums or committee meetings, College student rep meetings, Department Board of Studies and Students’ Union AGM and Forums. The key roles and responsibilities of being subject rep is to attend rep training, gather views of the peers regarding their academic experience, represent all student opinions at all meetings, feedback to students on the outcomes of the meetings attended, work in partnership with the students’ Union and university on improvement of the student experience, assist college rep for their role and participate in educational campaigns. After these two terms of position, I have gained many skills in solving problems regarding deadlines, exams, and modules. I am capable of leading a group, with outstanding communication skills. I also learned skills such as time management, public speaking, confidence and personal development, negotiation, and meeting etiquette. Show less I volunteered to be a student ambassador. The primary duty of student ambassador is to play a crucial role in events; responsible for ensuring that visitors to the University receive a high quality and enjoyable experience, representing the University in a variety of positions and showing prospective students and parents around the University on organised campus tours. We are in charge of organising the Undergraduate and Postgraduate open days and Applicant Visit Days. I also had to provide information and answer queries relating to life as a student, the application process and budgeting to prospective students and their parents. During these events, I was representing civil engineering students and sharing my experience in the way of showing them pc labs, laboratories, sports, accommodations and lecture halls. It was a great experience in a way that I was able to demonstrate a desire to pursue a career in civil engineering. It gave me an excellent opportunity to show how I am dedicated to educating myself constantly to move forward to be a Chartered Engineer.   I was a summer intern at Franklin Energy in Liverpool. I worked on the following projects and roles during the 12 weeks. - Involved in a private and public sector projects such as 293 domestic and 46 fast EV charging points for Countrywide Properties, 17 sites for North West Ambulance, eight sites Octopus and M&S, and one site for McCann Manchester. - Took over the conceptual design, quotation and purchase orders for charging points on the various sites. - Organised the company stand for Highways England event and pushed Franklin Energy news and articles through LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram.- Improved Franklin Energy’s LinkedIn post impressions from 600 to 10,300 and increased the followers by 250% comparing to the previous month. - Prepared tender materials, analysed tender documents and conducted cost checks. - Learnt day to day management of the various aspects of project operation management.- Attended Cenex LCV 2019 event Show less

I have 2-weeks rosters on-site every month and work 12 hours shift without weekend or public holidays.
