  Worked as a Mechatronics Engineer designing and building a medical imaging system capable of imaging cross sections of skin and breast tissue. Built the graphical user interface in NI LabVIEW which controlled the galvanometer mirrors direction, frame rate, shutter speed, acquisition triggering, and image processing. Succeeded in building a system that effectively acquires and processes cross sectional images of skin samples. Working to integrate a therapeutic laser into the OCT system to provide personalized cancer treatment.   Founded a startup with a partner where we developed a new type of smoking cessation technology which is currently being pitched to investors. Invented a transdermal drug delivery device which is currently being tested to deliver nicotine or fentanyl to adults attempting to quit smoking or opioids, Patent Pending. Implemented an innovative delivery method that imitates the release of nicotine from smoking a cigarette. Developed a smartphone application that controls the administration of nicotine and other drugs in a restrictive manner to limit addiction and help the user quit. Used leadership skills to lead a lab that is performing nicotine transport studies on skin samples that is helping with the development of our fourth prototype.   Showed excellent time management skills by splitting time between two separate teams and working on multiple projects simultaneously. Made changes to software code and innovated new ways to improve performance of the quality control machine vision system. Improved the accuracy of the machine learning system from 96% to 99% for the specific defects I examined. Found discrepancies between assumptions made for a product and the existing reality in the market. Used interpersonal skills to explain these findings to my supervisor and then the president of the company. These findings resulted in a change in the marketing and business plan for this product.
