  During this time, I worked as a researcher on a voluntary basis for a publication entitled “The History of Knocklong & Glenbrohane Parish ‘The Bouncers’”. This was a detailed & comprehensive history of the social, economic & sporting life of Knocklong and Glenbrohane parish.As researcher, I was responsible for collecting & analysing data on the history and heritage of the parish. I carried out in-depth interviews with participants from the parish, transcribing this information and subsequently analysing all the qualitiative data collected.In 2004 this publication won the prestigious McNamee Award for best GAA publication.
