  Roles and responsibilities---------------------------i) This battalion was under the administrative control of 9th mountain brigade of the Indian Army.It had headquarters at Moradabad with sector headquarters at Joshimath ( Uttarakhand ), Askot( Uttarakhand ), Uttarkashi ( Uttarakhand ) with its border posts spread over the entire Indo - China border in Uttarakhand area1ii) My responsibilities included smooth functioning of provision of medical care to all the service personnel of the battalion at the battalion headquarters' base hospital , sector headquarters and at all border posts.iii) I was regularly visiting and supervising the medical establishments at the extreme borders, at altitudes upto 17000 feet on the Indo China border, facing extremes of climate including sub zero temperatures to ensure the proper health and medical care of officers and all ranks of this battalion.   Roles and responsibilities---------------------------i) Directing , supervising , administrating and managing the operations of the 325 bedded multi-specialty District Hospital at Bareilly. This also included ensuring round the clock running of the Emergency, Blood bank and Diagnostics facilities including Pathology and Radiology etc.ii) The supervision of the provision of Ambulance services for VIP visits, large public gatherings including religious congregations , fairs and processions.
