      Student Analyst and Designer

AeroRio is a university-funded student team that builds unmanned aircrafts (UAVs) to SAE AeroDesign competitions in Brazil and USA. AeroRio simulates an aerospace industry environment where several requirements are defined and aircraft design goes through design phases such as conceptual, preliminary and detailed design. During my undergraduate degree, I participated as a student project engineer at AeroRio, where I developed 3D design skills using SolidWorks, as well as experience in mechanical simulation analysis, composite materials manufacturing, aerodynamics and aircraft performance.Achievements:(2018) 1° place - (Brazil) SAE AeroDesign Brasil Advanced Class(2018) 2° place - (EUA) SAE AeroDesign East Advanced Class(2017) 1° place - (Brazil) SAE AeroDesign Brasil Advanced Class(2017) 6° place - (EUA) SAE AeroDesign East Advanced Class(2016) 2° place - (Brazil) SAE AeroDesign Brasil Advanced Class (2014) 2° place - (Brazil) SAE AeroDesign Brasil Advanced ClassArticle BCCM4 - Design and manufacturing process of a UAV composite wing sparhttps://www.semanticscholar.org/paper/DESIGN-AND-MANUFACTURING-PROCESS-OF-A-UAV-COMPOSITE-Araujo-Costa/0f04f27b10da009f024d7f67c38599e1ba7bc491 Show less

    • Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro

      Feb 2017 - Feb 2018
      Undergraduate Scientific Research

Scientific initiation with a scolarship in the vibrations and dynamics laboratory of PUC-Rio. The work consisted on the development of a Matlab program and interface to approximate modal parameters (natural frequencies and vibration modes) of primary structural components using the finite elements method. In order to validate models, simulations results were compared with analytical solutions when possible and also with experimental data. I received an honorable mention for my work.Abstract and research report:http://www.puc-rio.br/pibic/relatorio_resumo2018/resumos_pdf/ctc/MEC/MEC-4640_Pablo%20Milheiro%20Novaes%20de%20Araujo.pdfhttp://www.puc-rio.br/pibic/relatorio_resumo2018/relatorios_pdf/ctc/MEC/PIBITI_MEC-Pablo%20Milheiro%20Novaes%20de%20Araujo.pdfPress article:http://jornaldapuc.vrc.puc-rio.br/cgi/cgilua.exe/sys/start.htm?infoid=9592&sid=29 Show less

    • Embraer

      Jan 2018 - Mar 2018
      Engineering Intern

Worked as an engineering intern at Embraer's summer job program, within the systems modeling and simulation team. Participated with the hydromechanics group in the development of a new simulation model of the Legacy 500 ground dynamics. During the summer program, I also had another project of interest, the development of a main landing gear simulation model based on a different multibody dynamics methodology. The final results were presented to the modeling and simulation area.

    • GE Aviation

      Jul 2018 - Aug 2018
      Engineering Intern

Participated in the GE Celma Lean Manufacturing program as part of a group of three engineering interns. The team was challenged to solve problems and find ways to improve logistics time of GEnx engine parts among Celma's plants and between Celma and outside vendors. In order to reduce parts logistics TAT by eliminating wastes from processes, the team used Lean Manufacturing tools such as: 5s organization, spaghetti chart, standardized work, gemba walk, value stream mapping and jidoka. Additionally, the team used DMAIC methodology during the development and implementation of the project. At the end of the program, the team presented proposals for improvement to the company leaderships. Show less
