  D2L | Learning Management System Support

  The Desire2Learn (D2L) Support is critical to the success of the Educational Innovation and Learners First strategic directions and the successful implementation of a Learning Management System (LMS). As D2L Support, i assist students, faculty and staff with Desire2Learn issues.Reporting to the Coordinator, Advanced Learning Technologies Centre, and working closely with the Learning Management System Administrator, Instructional Designers, and other administrative support personnel, i provide prompt and friendly technical assistance and support to CNA-Q’s learners and instructors. This assistance and support is primarily directed to problem solving and providing assistance and advice on the use of Desire2Learn and associated online tools. Assistance to clients is usually provided by telephone, online chat and email. I also assist with creating documents and supporting media files, and compiling satisfaction survey data.   For the past five years at VCUart Qatar, I have held the post of integrating technology intoclassroom in alignment with VCU in Richmond, US. Through workshops delivery, service and consultation, I was able to promote the use of technology and support VCUQ’s student, faculty and staff. My academic training and professional experience prepared me to be an effective researcher and a leader in Innovative Technologies, especially in an Art and Design context.At VCUart Qatar, I serve on multiple committees: The teaching and learning with technology, Remote Teaching Taskforce, and migrating to Canvas workgroup.I work directly with Academic technologies and instructional designers in VCU Richmond to support projects that support technology use in teaching, learning and research at VCUart Qatar.Some of my projects were to implement student-centered teaching strategies that integrate learning platforms in learning modalities that proved to increase student engagement and promote active learning such as blended learning and flipped classroom strategies. My combination of strong IT technical skills and instructional design experience makes me capable of learning and teaching any computational-based technology with various complexity such as designing in Unity for Virtual and Augmented Reality.
