  Sr. Mechanical Engineer

  I joined the Project Management and Engineering Service Line in GHD as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. I have worked on 4 Building projects on which I played a pivotal role. One of which is a confidential Defense Project for Qatar Government. This mega structure project comprises of a Military Camp and Military Academy. The Camp is a mega structure Military Base that consists of Training, Administration, Accommodation buildings and outdoor area and all other essential services & training facilities. My Main Role was to carry out the following duties:• Examine the contractor’s pre-qualification, material submittal, design/shop drawing, method statement, coordination drawing, as-built drawing and specification and review them against the client objectives, international codes and standards and authority regulations.• Assist the Project Manager in the overall management and supervision of the mechanical and engineering aspects of the project.• Review the Bill of Quantities and Contractors’ proposal, as well as payment and variation orders.• Manage the Contractor’s engineers, and overseeing, and monitoring, and inspecting material delivery, site installation and modification works to verify that building services are completed in accordance with project document, specification, codes and standards. • Follow up and coordinate with authority, contractor and other counterparts including civil, electrical and other team members • Attend progress, design and workshop meetings.• Establish a safe working environment, issuing a site observation report, non-conformance notifications, and safety violations for defective works, and following up to repair according to codesFor a residential high rise building, namely Porta Arabia 7B project in Pearl, Qatar. • Examine the operation and maintenance manuals as well as the closeout documentation.• Attend the testing and commissioning of the works and assures that all data results are recorded.
