  Whilst contracted out to Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering Ltd, as site Engineer I worked in conjunction with a Senior Bridge Engineer to construct the new link span bridge and pontoon for the Mersey Cruise Liner Facility Terminal, at the Pier Head in Liverpool City Centre.My duties and responsibilities included: · Setting out for the position of the bridge deck supports· Precision leveling and aligning of the bridge deck plates · Working in synchronization with crane driver using signaling skills to hoist and position the bridge deck plates into precise position.· Setting out for the positions of the steel bridge columns · Assembling and setting out of the bridge truss structural members · Marking out the horizontal triangulation control at deck plate level· Marking out the fixing positions of the truss members to the steel erectors· Setting out the bridge parapet· Setting out of deep bore pile positions for pontoon construction· Setting out of pile caps and pontoon slab · Inspecting the welding log · Checking that the bolted and welded connection details had been fixed by the steel erectors in accordance with the specified fixing schedulesIn addition to the above I was responsible for directing the daily scheme of activities to the steel erectors, welders and scaffolding workers, and authorizing and relaying over contract documentation to all sub-contracted working personnel.   Upon securing repeat work for Balfour Beatty infrastructure, I have been responsible for setting out for the upgrade of the highways / drainage / kerbs/ resurfacing and bridge expansion joint repair works for the highways agency area 10 roads and bridges projects, on a number of pinch-point schemes including; civil engineering bridge joint repair works upon the steel / concrete composite Thelwall viaduct and 2 further rail / road bridge reconstruction and highways improvement works along M56 junction 2/3 Cheadle branch, an extension of site engineering requirements for highways improvement works required for the Denton roundabout and exit slip roads off the M60. Also additional improvement works on the m6 j26 responsible for the setting out of new highways lighting columns, ducting, chambers, and comms including additional verge improvement / expansion works.   During my 3 month temp contract at Carillion Plc I was involved in the management and engineering works for the construction of the new Royal Liverpool University Hospital, Predominantly engaged in the quality assurance and management of the RC frame, Main Hospital floors (3 >7) North and South side. Further Duties included supervising the steel erection of the main hospital steel structure atrium, carrying out surveys of the RC floor slab and transfer beams pre and post pour which further included: checking the steel reinforcement bars where correctly lapped, tied, and correctly situated prior to pour in accordance with the reinforcement schedule and setting out drawings. In addition to this I was responsible for checking all the setting out associated with the floor slabs from the site Engineers was accurate, in accordance with setting out drawings, and ensuring the Health and safety of all subcontractors was 100 % accident free under my supervision.
