  Activities and Societies: Bellatrix, social committee, RAG committee, Honours social committee, SABPP I was part of the Bellatrix hostel all 4 years of university and took part in the above mentioned committees. My job on the social committee consisted out of planning social events. This helped me improve my people skills, communication skills and pushed me to think out of the box. My job on the RAG committee was to collaborate with my team to create a social event, focused on receiving donations (clothes, food, money) that would be presented to those in need. My job on the social committee consisted out of planning social events. This helped me improve my people skills, communication skills and pushed me to think out of the box. My job on the RAG committee was to collaborate with my team to create a social event, focused on receiving donations (clothes, food, money) that would be presented to those in need. The honours social committee consisted out of a small group and we took care of planning and coordinating any events within our student group. Lastly, I was part of the SABPP( South African Board of People Practices). It was our job to make sure that the new students understood the board and what HR was about. We had to create seminars in which I was able to work on time managent skills, coordination skills, interpersonal skills and leadership skills. Show less

My job on the social committee consisted out of planning and contributing to social events for my hostel and the RAG committee helps create a social event in which the proceeds get donated to those in need. My job on the social committee consisted out of planning and contributing to social events for my hostel and the RAG committee helps create a social event in which the proceeds get donated to those in need. Another committee I served on was AKSA (current affairs). This committee promotes social integration, cultural awareness, unity, and diversity on the NWU campus. We did this by holding events with other hostels, having debates, and competitions, which taught me how to work with my team for ultimate success. We also worked on health awareness (substance abuse, etc.) and tried to help the first year students get acclimated in the new university culture. Show less
