  I have worked in the SC/RC or #2 Coker since it was brought on line in 1983. Before that I worked in the Premium Coker from 1979 until 1983. I have been to a few projects in other refineries and two different countries, all of which were a very good learning experience for me. I was able to bridge the gap between two different cultures, while working along side good people, which I consider my greatest gift.I have recently retired (September 30, 2010) from COP and have decided to take it easy for a few months before going into the consulting business. I feel that I can contribute what I have learned and experienced to make a positive difference in future projects. Show less

  Coker Specialist Consultant for the Prepare to Operate team. Helped develop training material, executed training of the Coker unit, with specific focus of the Coke Drum operation including drilling. Lead a team to function test, pre-commission, commission, and operate this area of operation. Part of the team that successfully started up the CORE project (Coker north) during November and December of 2011.

  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship with both Yasref Operations Superintendent for the DCU/MRU and SPIE CSU Manager • Provide expert support and guidance to Yasref Operations Superintendent for the DCU/MRU• Take ownership for all CSU related matters within the DCU/MRU• Review and complete the Master Document Register for the DCU/MRU• Develop a Completions Schedule for Commissioning and Operations procedures and documents based on MDR• Manage the development of all procedures and checklists in order to satisfy the needs of the DCU/MRU• Work with Yasref Operations Superintendent for the DCU/MRU to identify the Integrated Team resource required to satisfy the above; including the selection and recruitment of additional personnel as necessary• Develop a detailed Level 3 Commissioning and Start-Up schedule for Yasref Operations the DCU/MRU• Contribute to the Refinery Level 4 Commissioning and Start-Up sequence planning to ensure a fully integrated plan • Liaise with PMT to establish an optimised schedule/call off for key Vendors and Licensors of the DCU/MRU• Develop detailed plans for support services required eg. Instruments, Electrical, Mechanical, Laboratory etc., for the DCU/MRU• Liaise with PMT MC Completions Schedulers to plan and prioritise completions for the Commissioning and Start-Up phases for the DCU/MRU• Issue weekly and monthly reports to CSU Manager including measurement of progress against plan for the DCU/MRU.• Develop a Team of Operations, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Mechanical Engineers for daily progress of the construction and pre-commissioning of the DCU/MRU area for reporting the process and development of the DCU/MRU.• Work closely with the Training Manager to ensure that the Training Plan satisfies the Operations needs.
