Starting my career in the can business with a training program at Ball Metal Container Group in Saratoga Springs / New York. First position as a chief maintainer in the new can plant in Berlin / Germany. Adressing in the foĺlowing 14 years in the can business the positions of Shift Manager, Departement Manager Back End and Production Manager before working first time on projects abroad.

  After returning from working in Russia in August 2009 I supported the Rexam Fredericia Plant in Denmark from September 2009 till February 2010 Supporting the local management for to run on budgetted numbers as well as the increase the existing single line to a Mega Line in 2009 with a minimum output of 2,5 Million 50CL cans / day by one production line. After the acquisition of the former Rostar Can Plant by Rexam driving together with a Russian colleague in the role of the plant manager the conversion of the plant to the Rexam Standards, increasing the efficiency and reducing the spoilage as well as reorganizing the manning to a standard level and implementing the Rexam Lear Manufacturing.

Customer new label approval and proof prints with the customer on the side. Supporting the plant by the production process. Increasing the efficiency and reducing the spoilage. Optimizing the printing area, inker overhawl and the digital plate making.

  Working with the Rexam Berlin Customer Fullfillment Team in direct contact to our Customers, planning, organizing and approving the "full in time delivery" of the cans and ends by the customer demand on daily base and planning the production for the Berlin plant by the elements of local sales as well as the support as a LRD plant for the other Rexam can plants. Transferring the production orders for our customers to the other Rexam can plants, which are supporting us by the different sizes we don't produce in Berlin. Show less

  When I started to work in can business in 1984 I thought it would be great to start working with a brand new factory. This is a challenge and gives me a safety working place till the end of my business life. But life isn’t a walk in a park. In February 2015 we got the announcement by Rexam Millbanks, that our Berlin plant will be closed to the end of the year 2015. No explanation required what that meant for my 164 colleagues and me….But due to that situation where there will be one door closed I was sure that this could mean also that there will be a new door opened....
