      During my time in this position my main priorities included providing administrative support to 1 Director, 2 Associate Directors, multiple Section Heads and myself, including travel, expenses, calendar, meeting logistics, WebEx, and Organization Charts. My second focus was directed on building positive culture and connections through department events and celebrations ranging from intimate celebrations to 300+ attendee corporate functions.       Accepted into the five week practicum program at CCHMC, one of the leading Pediatric Hospitals in the Country, with one of the largest Child Life Programs in the world. Attended seminars, participated in directed learning activities, and gained knowledge and experience observing multiple certified child life specialists in various areas. Observed in Same-Day Surgery, Emergency Department, Josh Cares, Cancer & Blood Diseases Institute (CBDI), Environmental Health Clinic. Extended observational areas include: Transitional Care Center, Psych In-Patient, Pediatric Primary Care Center, Foster Care Center, and Pet Center. One week of the practicum was dedicated to CBDI Medical Camp at Camp Joy, where I was one-to-one with a camper for the entire week.Goals and objectives met as part of the CCHMC Child Life Practicum: - Become familiar with the child life profession and the Child Life Department at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.- Discuss and understand family centered psychosocial care as the foundation of child life.- Gain an understanding of the impact of health care on the emotional and developmental needs of children.- Observe a variety of clinical experiences in order to develop a foundation of understanding child life’s role in a health care setting.- Have the opportunity to interact with patients on a one-to-one basis and in group situations.- Recognize creative and flexible programming that meets patients’ and families’ psychosocial needs.- Develop an understanding of team effort in affecting positive experiences for children in the medical environment.- Practice providing an acceptable, non-judgmental approach to promote healthy interactions between child, staff and family. - Develop professional therapeutic boundaries, growth, maturity and judgment.- Evaluate oneself under the guidance of experienced professionals.- Develop a professional mission statement that will drive one’s future education and work. Rotations included 6-weeks in the Hem/Oc Day Hospital with periodic Clinic and Dialysis coverage, 1-week overnight camp at Flying Horse Farms, 1-week in The Proton Therapy Center, and 6-weeks in the NICU Josh Care's Program.
