      Consulting Professor

Developed and taught different graduate and undergraduate EE courses including Teletraffic Engineering, Telecommunication Networks, Digital Communications, Communication Engineering and Special Topics in Communication Networks. Led joint Pacific Bell-Stanford research teams, coaching and mentoring Ph.D. and MS students on telecommunication network design/planning methodologies, traffic engineering, broadband networks and computer aided design/planning tools.

    • AT&T Labs, Inc.

      Apr 1988 - May 2012
      Lead Member of Technical Staff

Led and administered the mobility network Architecture Review Board (ARB) responsible for formal evaluation, assessment and approval of company wide projects. The main responsibilities in ARB included detailed technical review for approval of all mobility’s standard High Level Architecture (HLA), Detailed Architecture (DA) and Network Design Requirements (NDR), by careful examination of technical contents and compliance requirements. Led the formation of several project teams and actively participated in projects design, development and implementation. Contributed directly in project execution, including selection of pilot sites, data gathering, model development and data analysis. Examples of few selected projects are:• End-to-End mobility voice quality analysis• Atoll RF Engineering RAN networks data extaction and analysis.• Log Haul WDM Planning Tool (LH-WPT) development and implementation jontly with IT team and Labs' optical research technical members. • Mobility Non-RAN Demand Analysis and Projection process.• Leading a team effort for updating the mobility Plan of Record (PoR).• First phase of the LTE SS7 Signaling impact analysis due to signaling growth triggered by LTE.Created new design and optimization methodologies and implementation processes known as Transport Network Optimization Process (TOP) and SONET/DCS Transport Network Optimization Process (SD-TOP) for efficient assessment, analysis and design of fiber based SONET Digital Crossconnect networks. Trained and led severl groups of IOF strategic and current planners to deploy TOP and SD-TOP in AT&T's major metropolitan networks. Show less
