      12/1989-5/1994: Broadcasting Engineer. My responsibilities included installation, maintenance and repair to the component level where applicable of television and radio broadcast equipment. This included Master Control, Production Control, Studios, transmitters, satellite uplink and downlink equipment, and remote production units. I also maintained a CATV head-end for a campus CATV system serving the student dormitories. My daily duties included preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment. Equipment experience included Sony ¾” U-matic VTR’s, Sony Betacam VTR’s, Ampex 1” Type “C” VTR’s, Ampex ACE editing system, Harris VHF transmitter, and Broadcast Electronics FM transmitter.6/1988-12/1989: Television Equipment Operator. Responsibilities included operation of a post-production facility, using various types of studio and field production equipment. My primary responsibility was operating an Ampex ACE Standard videotape editor. I also filled in as a Master Control Operator for WSIU-TV8 when students were not available to work the on-air Video Switcher.12/1986-6/1998: Master Control Operator (Student Work Position). This included answering emergency pager calls to each of the cable network master controls, and WTBS-TV channel 17. I provided support to the program preparation edit suites for all linear and non-linear editing. I functioned in the role of project manager on various projects, including the installation of an ISDN system for the Turner Production Audio Department. This included all aspects of system integration, including the use of CAD programs for schematics and block diagrams. As project manager, I was also responsible for researching equipment and material costs, preparing a line-item budget for the project, and ensuring the project stayed within budget. The maintenance team also provided technical support to Turner Sports for studio shows for the National Football League, and the National Basketball Association. As Engineer Shift Supervisor, I was the main liaison between the engineering staff and the Broadcast Operations Center personnel during the overnight shift, and managed a staff of three engineers. I received extensive training and experience with video servers using automation software with various operating systems, including Sony LMS, Leitch, Louth, and various Windows-based systems. I am also experienced with Sony D-2 VTR’s, GVG Model 3000 Video Switchers, the Telex ADAM intercom system, Avid non-linear editing, Ampex and Sony 1” Type “C” VTR’s, and ISDN codecs. Show less
