      Registered nurse

I worked at different hospitals in their critical care areas, telemetry units, radiology department, post coronary care unit, and emergency department. Spartanburg Regional Hospital, I was needed in the Heart Tower on the post coronary care unit for over a year. Pulling sheaths after coronary interventions and closely monitoring patients vital signs were frequent skills utilized on this unit. Cannon Memorial Hospital, I worked in the critical care unit and the emergency department from 2001 to 2002. Managing patients on ventilators, administering intravenous medications via central lines or picc lines were persistent practice in these departments. Baptist Easley Hospital, I worked in many areas from 2001-2004. The areas included the critical care unit, emergency department, telemetry, and the medical surgical unit. Most of these areas I worked 13 week contracts in a full-time position. When not working under a contract I still worked full-time hours to cover needed shifts. Essential qualities I perfected were operating peripherally inserted central catheters and central line infusions, monitoring and applying telemetry, carrying out conscious sedation, insertion of intravenous lines, accessing ports, and assisting with bedside procedures such as bronchoscopies, and cardioversions. Registered nurse

Working in the resource float pool for Baptist Easley Hospital, I fulfilled contracts in the critical care unit, emergency department, radiology area, and heart catheterization laboratory. I assisted with conscious sedation procedures such as bronchoscopies, cardioversions, fluoroscopies, and limb reduction. I executed exercise stress tests or nuclear stress tests with adenosine, dobutamine, or dipyridamole. I operated central lines with intravenous vasopressors, sedatives, total parental nutrition, and insulin to name a few. I also maintained and conducted wedge pressures in patients with swan ganz catheter lines. I administered oral sedative medications per the protocol, to patients coming into the hospital for outpatient MRI's. I conducted sending very critical patients to other hospitals for further treatment via helicopter transport by the local flight evacuation team. Show less
