  Mikel was my teacher, my mentor, my research partner, and my friend. I worked with Mikel to update his Mindpro Lean Six Sigma training program. To develop The Great Discovery - Six Sigma for Personal Achievement. And to develop the Executive Master Black Belt in which Mikel awarded me EMBB #0001. Mikel and I were both comfortable with technology. While Mikel and I would occasionally meet in person, we did most of collaboration by telephone (Mikel's preferred method), email, and video conference when we need to share files in a one on one manner. It was not unusual for us to spend 4 or more hours on a single call or 20 hours per week when we were deep into a project. We had mutual respect and trust and were able to freely challenge each other. Although we didn't always agree, we both knew that he was the real expert and I was their in a supporting role to help make his work better. Although neither of us knew when we first started working together. Mikel was a year younger than me and although we didn't know each other in our youth we grew up less than 20 miles from each other. And Mikel earned a Bachelor and Master degrees from Ball State University in the department in which I taught. Mikel and I both had extreme hobbies. Mikel was a cowboy. I was a long distance motorcycle rider. We found each other intellectual stimulating and interesting as a human being. Both of us strove for innovation and perfection. We pushed each other to our limits and made each other better. This was a non-compensated position. It was a work of love both for the work and the man.I miss my friend.
