Sept 2004 - Jul 2017Responsibilities• Overall responsibility for achieving area sales objectives, forecasting requirements and initiating area-marketing strategies for 10 retail photography concessions within Mothercare stores. • Mentoring and developing managers on a one to one level and also conducting regular area conferences/meetings for business updates and support. • Providing effective performance management to 40 staff, including reviewing and setting objectives through action planning.• Full P+L responsibility for an area with a £1.6million budget.• Motivating and driving acquisition results through implementing games and introducing a staff incentive reward system.• Ensuring all studios have the highest customer service skills, by implementing and maintaining a strong customer service philosophy throughout the area.Key Achievements• As a consequence of outstanding performance in previous area roles, I was then asked to take over a new North area consisting of 10 studios, 6 of which were underperforming and loss making, successfully returning them to profit after 3 months.• Maximizing profit by increasing area’s average customer spend by +16% on the previous year, through implementing new sales techniques, re-training existing staff and re-evaluating our customer experience to deliver the highest possible customer service.• Improved profit on the previous year by +109%. • Making changes to the marketing and acquisition of our customers, such as the use of social media, different techniques to canvass and new locations to promote.• Making improvements on the 6 loss making studios’ sales performance compared to last year by +11%. Show less Responsibilities• Overall responsibility for achieving area sales objectives, forecasting requirements and initiating area-marketing strategies for 13 retail photography concessions within Mothercare and Debenhams stores. • Working closely with Mothercare senior management, attending meetings and reporting back on sales figures, tying new marketing ideas to benefit both businesses.• Full P+L responsibility for an area with a 2.2million EURO budget.• The role had similar responsibilities to my other two area management roles, directly managing 69 staff, including 13 managers, 2 admin, 2 regional trainers and 1 area co-ordinator.Key Achievements• Following 3 other successful Area Management positions in Ireland I was asked to cover a maternity leave in Ireland consisting of 13 studios.• Launched new training programme across the business to reduce staff turnover to 10%.• Re-structured pricing and sales packages, to streamline profit and give better value to the customer. Show less • Promoted to Regional Trainer in September of 2013 after leading one of the top 5 studios in the company.• Played a key role in training new starters for the whole company, running training seminars to groups of up to 15 staff. Training Managers on motivation skills, people management and time management. • As Training Project Manager, I was responsible for all new training projects, from design to implementation. • Launching our new style studios across the country. Setting up, training staff and attending the re-opening to ensure a successful day, interacting with all external parties as a representative of the company.• Played a key role in the roll out of our digital programme in Ireland. Successfully overseeing this new application in all studios, with each area achieving above expectations.• Over these 25 months I was asked on 3 occasions to cover as Area Manager, twice in the South of Ireland (first time for 4 months, then for 8 months) and once in Northern Ireland (5 months). Troubleshooting poor performing areas to successfully bring back to profit, while training the current Managers and hiring new Area Managers, training them to the highest standards to run the area after my absence. Including development of 12 Bureau Managers having all been recently promoted to their role.• Responsiblily for all KPIs, including improvement customer spends, increasing transcations and improving selling margins to maxise profit.• Accountable for the overall operations of the bureau’s, making sure policies are followed and adhered with Travelex standards to pass quarterly audits.
