      Lead research and development for public-private partnership manging a portfolio of investment in workforce development programs and services. Charged with designing and launching innovation solutions to local workforce needs; with the intent of scaling successful initiaitves. Managed a team of seven and a $1.5M budget. Increased the organization’s revenue by 50% (to $26 M) through a combination of grants and related development activities.

      Designed and managed a range of projects to test innovative approaches to energy efficiency and sustainability, assisting the Bureau deliver value to citizens and the business community while achieving critical city-wide goals. Interstate Renovation Project. Served as Assistant Project Manager of a $50M construction project designed to replace industrial facilities on 11-acre site with LEED Gold buildings. Responsible for stakeholder management, coordinating design and construction teams; negotiating contracts; reviewing the budget and public outreach activities, solving zoning and permitting issues; and managing the expectations of 300 employees working in the current facility.Water House Project. Managed pilot that built a home 30% more efficient than required by the Oregon Energy Code. Managed vendor and stakeholder relations to provide a mix of services, materials and data to be tracked, analyzed and reported throughout the project. The Water House received national acclaim for it’s innovative approach to leveraging private and public sector resources to showcase a living laboratory of energy efficient products and systems. Show less Planned and directed key Bureau of Development Services (BDS) projects to test innovative solutions to complex sustainability challenges--bringing energy efficiency and green building opportunities to market. Designed, implemented and managed projects, together with cross-sector partners from the ground up. Tracked and reported all outcomes to senior leaders and policy makers acrosssectors. Created and executed the award-winning Living Smart program designed to provide affordable and sustainable housing options for Portland’s residents. Worked with homebuilders, architects, energy efficient advocates and policy makers to develop a range of floor plans developers could use at no cost to the consumer. The success lead to national and international inquiries from cities seeking to replicate program.Designed and managed all aspects of the City of Portland’s PEEHP Program, a pilot created to quantify the construction costs associated with building 15% an 30% beyond the Oregon Energy Code in new home construction. Secured funding from the City and leveraged additional funding and contributions from stakeholders. Directed assessment and application of design/construction innovations,recommended necessary policies to ensure affordable energy efficient housing development. Managed City of Portland’s Renewable Fuel Standard mandating biofuels be a percentage of all motor vehicle fuel sold within Portland City Limits. As the first City to implement such a standard, I collaborated with the supply chain--petroleum and biofuel producers, agriculture, station owners and transportation stakeholders--to establish regulatory framework/quality standards, identify barriers and develop solutions.
