GWeek is the news program for GW-TV. As Executive Producer, I facilitate the creation of the episode by overseeing package production of different beats, writing of headlines, and compiling the script. I also direct or technical direct during shoots and assign others to positions in the studio. Once the episode is shot, I edit the episode to include packages, closed captioning, credits, and sometimes graphics. Because this is a learning environment, I am also there to teach new members how to write, produce, and edit packages. Show less GW-TV is the student-run television station at George Washington University. As Director of Productions, I was in charge of all studio shoots. The day of a shoot, I was the point of contact for all staff that were present at the shoot. I was also the point of contact with the studio technician, an SMPA employee. I was in charge of setting up the studio for the shoots including connecting mics, rough positioning of cameras, turning on studio monitors, etc.. I was well versed in all the equipment, and for this reason was able to fill in for jobs in the studio and control room when needed to make the shoots run efficiently. Because this is a learning environment, I was also there to teach new members how to use the equipment in the studio and control room. Show less GWeek is the news program for GW-TV. As Senior Producer, I assisted the executive producers in creating the episode. I would help produce packages, technical direct during shoots, and write headlines. This position had less responsibility than the executive producers, but I was learning the administrative and behind-the-scenes aspects of producing the show so that I would be prepared to take over. Because this is a learning environment, I was also there to teach new members how to write, produce, and edit packages. Show less GWeek is the news program for GW-TV. As a News Reporter, I was in charge of producing packages for beats. Beats consisted of National, World, GW, DC, and Arts & Culture and were selected on an episode by episode basis. I typically reported for the Arts & Culture beat because of my interest in the subject. One to three people would be assigned the beat and would produce packages. Usually, I would write, shoot, and edit the package while someone else would be on camera. That being said, there were times it was a one woman show. Show less
