      Feb 2007 - Feb 2008
      Field Assistant

My role at the museum has given me a lot of experience both within the office and out on site. The most prestigious project I have been involved with is the excavation of the Manchester Dock in Liverpool prior to the redevelopment of the docks and the new museum.SKILLS: My responsibilities on site included assisting volunteers, surveying using a dumpy level and an EDM, photography, recording archaeological features, finds processing, planning, and excavating. In the office I was responsible for digitising site plans using AutoCAD, rectifying site photographs using Photomodeler, creating databases with Microsoft Access, and writing Finds Reports, as well as contributing to Desk Based Assessments and Final Reports. • National Probation Service

      Feb 2008 - Jul 2008
      Case Administrator

My main role as Case Administrator was to organise new case files and retrieve paper work from the law courts in order to keep the Probation Officers up to date with their clients’ offences and sentences. The majority of my work involved gathering information and creating files for court if a client breached their probation sentence. I learnt to deal with my workload in an efficient manner. SKILLS: This role exemplifies my excellent organisational skills which were required to work effectively in a very demanding role. As the majority of my work was crucial in court attention to detail and speed of delivery was of the utmost importance as failure to produce documents of a high standard and within the tight deadlines could result in the postponement of court procedures. • National Museums Liverpool

      Jun 2009 - Jul 2009
      Site Supervisor

I was invited through my position at the museum to supervise 8 undergraduate students from the University of Southampton on their annual field trip to Nevis, West Indies. My main duties were to teach the students how to excavate and record archaeological features, whilst encouraging them to learn more about Nevisian slave culture and archaeology.SKILLS: Here my teaching skills were of primary importance; I learnt to convey ideas and practical information in a clear and concise manner resulting in a successful excavation of part of a sugar plantation manor house. Decision making was also necessary and I learnt that when working with students I had to be confident in my abilities and the decisions I made on site with regards to dealing with the archaeological material.
