  The Scheme is a bespoke programme designed to enable young people, to access training that helps them secure engineering jobs in the energy sector. It is an intense course, over a two year period, with a mix of practical and theoretical work that helps students prepare for the world of work.Students graduate with an SVQ in Performing Engineering Operations with Safety & Management training along along with a HNC in Electrical Engineering and a HNC in Measurement & Control. They also receive training in health & safety, management, team working and interpersonal skills. This course is designed to create a rounded graduate who can access many of the opportunities the oil and gas sector has to offer. As part of the Shell Engineering Scheme we revive four separate week long work placements at the St Fergus Gas Plant. Here I learned many skills about the industry such as saftey procedures and plant operation. Furthermore it also allowed me to get an insight on what an industrial sized plant is like. Show less

Integrating cost saving and/or saftey critical solutions to existing processes and maintaining them through out their life cycle. Recently undertaking PLC programming (ladder logic) and HMI design along with my other responsibilities on site.
