  Role and Responsibility:BEC’s (Backbone Engineering Consultant) secondary representative at each site – reporting to the Senior D&B Tunnel Construction Engineer and present at the second shift. Review of construction records provided by the Contractor, including blast records, geotechnical face mapping, probe drilling records, ground monitoring, water inflow and grouting information.Technical support to NEOM/EPM in direction to the contractors, where necessary, for the installation of additional support measures. Review and technical approval of the Contractor’s tunnel excavation rock mass classification and temporary support proposals, rock slope survey reports and support proposals, arrangements for tunnel survey, monitoring records, proposals for post-excavation grouting, proposals for ground improvement grouting in exceptionally poor ground, where required (support type AD-5c). Attendance at daily review meetings to ensure the Contractor’s proposed round excavation and support sequence (RESS) for each work front is in accordance with Engineer’s design.
