  - Since 2000, I’ve had the fortune of working on my family’s cattle ranch in México, where we manage over 250 cows, and close to 200 heads of cattle for slaughter each year. - Having a personal stake in the operations, I act as a partner in the business, buying and selling cattle with equal weight.- Plant and cultivate crops with a tractor, drive heavy machinery for construction, feed animals and tend to common cattle illnesses, as well as land conservation.- My duties include running the day-to-day operations, managing and supervising projects while ensuring maximum employee productivity. - I also coordinate the accounting through records of our inventory, expenses, profits and losses, while using the information from these reports to help create strategies to achieve business goals.   - Coordinate and assist in planning activities, including zoning changes, site plan reviews, parcel maps, subdivision plans, and mobile home installations.- Provide services in economic development, growth, redevelopment, and code enforcement; interpret and explain the City codes and regulations.- Maintain and regularly update City website. - Collect statistical data, prepare reports and maps on topics such as census information, land use, tax base data, and occupancy rates, using ArcGIS.- Manage City’s Technology & Training Center, with funding from the Wonderful Company, to host workforce development workshops and tech related courses, serving over 70 students, annually.- Organize over 500 accounts of City Housing Programs (CDBG) portfolio, including First-Time Homebuyer and Housing Rehabilitation programs.- Prepare Staff Reports, monthly reports and yearly summaries for the Community Development Department and serve as Secretary to the Planning Commission.- Write, administer, and report for grants and special programs.- Contribute, author, and revise Avenal General Plan Update 2035, Zoning Ordinance Update 2018, and corresponding Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration CEQA document for adoption.- Serve as 2020 LUCA Census Liason and Census 2020 Avenal Complete Count Co-Chair.- Safety Meeting President Show less
