      One of six students elected, full time, to the executive board of a member-led organisation representing over 15,000 full and part time students at the University. It provides social, recreational, representative, advocacy, campaigning and support services. I held a diverse brief overseeing the Guilds’ student activates, volunteering unit, media functions and executive responsibility for the Guild’s trading operations, with a turnover of c. £2.5m.- Commenced a significant strategic organisational review to ensure that the Guild was fit for purpose and ready for impending legislative changes. Outcomes from the report led to a comprehensive restructure leaving the Guild better able to respond to the needs of its members, in a financially sustainable way.- Drove improvement within all areas of the organisation through the development of key performance indicators, monitoring and evolution against agreed targets resulting in improvements in service quality. - Responsible for contributing to strategic planning and organisational direction and scope.- Handled national and local press enquires relating to a number of high profile events, ensuring reputational risk was adequately managed- Successfully established new marketing channels, including development of marketing policy exploiting the opportunities provided by new media, social and viral marketing and improved member engagement.- Dealing with the Guilds and University’s legal teams whilst both were subject to judicial review.       Working within a small team to develop and deliver new products and membership benefits through a development process from initial market research, product development, launch and evaluation. This required the development and implementation of an appropriate market research programme to identify market needs and how best to meet these either through in-house product development or third party products. I also undertook research to evaluate the impact and value of existing membership benefits, and overall satisfaction with the organisation.Data was collected through focus groups, structured and semi structured interviews, survey tools and secondary research.       Director of a nationally recognised membership-led organisation; the organisation's strategic lead for communications and marketing I am responsible for two teams with a combined budget of 330k.Key Successes- Planned and implemented a combined service hub for students' on the University Of Exeter's second campus - St Luke's. This project include the management of a 80k capital project to provide a dedicated space; service design and delivery; supporting communications and marketing materials.- Implementation of new email platform to better deliver the organisations messages in a more segmented and targeted way addressing key customer concerns, whilst reducing staff workload. - Lead the quantitative and qualitative research programmes to deliver the organisations 2017-20 strategy. Subsequently planning and executing the launch of the strategy to customers and stakeholders.- Developed and oversaw the implementation of a new membership insights programme to provide better operational and strategic information to inform staff decision making.- Developed the organisations approach to the collection and use of "big data" providing insight into our customers and working towards a fully developed behaviour segmentation model for the organisation.In addition I executed the duties as the director of the organisation ensuring legal compliance, financial sustainability whilst safeguarding the experience for 19,000 student members.
