    • Carollo Engineers

      Apr 2002 - Jan 2005
      Research Engineer

At Carollo my work was a combination of research studies for the AWWA Research Foundation (now the Water Research Foundation) and work for municipal clients. My research work focused on distribution system water quality and impacts of multiple disinfectants on disinfectant by-product formation. My municipal projects included water treatment plant master planning for complex facilities and nitrification monitoring and control plans. I also supported development of proposals to grant foundations and municipal clients. I founded the Quality of Life Committee to bring work-life balance activities into the office. Committee activities included a simple living discussion group, yoga classes in the main conference room (that continued for a decade!), and a book exchange. Show less

    • Leading Water Forward

      Jan 2016 - now
      Cofounder and Board Member

Leading Water Forward is the next evolution of Women Leading Water—a non-profit that was formed to host the annual Women in Leadership Symposium in Portland. We updated our name to reflect our commitment to intersectionality. Part of that commitment is making sure our presenters represent the diversity of our community—representing LGBTQIA+, a diversity of race/ethnicity, and neurodivergence and other dimensions. I was one of the original founders of the event (over 10 years ago!) and the original non-profit, and continue to serve on the Board of Directors as the Treasurer. The Symposium remains one of my favorite days of the year, seeing women come together to openly share their experiences and explore what’s possible in their lives. Show less
