We will discuss the following aspects of biology: the organization of life, the development of living organisms, the transmission of traits, evolution, behavior and ecology. We will go over the facts of life but also their application and how they relate to your professional goals.   Introduction to Drug DesignHuman health care relies on the discovery and development of new drugs. The successful drugs that we know today are a result of years of research at the interface of chemistry and biology and also marketing. The purpose of this course is to introduce the basic principles, current approaches and topics in the pharmaceutical industry. Upon the completion of this course the student should be familiar with the jargon used in the pharmaceutical industry, how a particular disease is selected, the current methods for designing drugs, the process of how a molecule becomes a drug and the ways in which the industry is developing new methods using genomic data. 部分表示
