  My study establishes the relationship between hydraulic conductivity and a wide range of void ratios (0.5 to 10) for mature fine tailings (MFT) through three laboratory tests: the standard oedometer test, the falling head test, and the Rowe cell test. Based on the hydraulic conductivity data from lab tests and data reported in the literature, regression models were developed to correlate hydraulic conductivity with a wide range of void ratios (k-e relationship) for fine oil sand tailings. Empirical equations proposed for predicting the hydraulic conductivity of plastic soils were evaluated for their suitability and performance in predicting the hydraulic conductivity of fine oil sand tailings.
