Using central ownership as a genuine competitive advantage, Carters invested heavily in both branding and in its 1,000+ staff to ensure that its 37 strong branch network was best placed to satisfy the needs of all Building, Joinery and Home Improvement customers across New Zealand.; Different roles within Carters marketing department over a seven year career culminated in tenure as the Marketing Manager, reporting directly to the Chief Executive as a senior lead team member. Charged with driving the strategic marketing direction of the Carters brand, the role called for a genuine understanding of the changing needs of Carters customers. A keen attention to detail was also required in order to optimise the daily allocation of a realistic, yet very finite pool of marketing resource.
