  While on my Experiential Learning, one of the requirements for my Degree, I spent 3 weeks teaching 9-12 grade students. I helped the teachers with core math and science skills as well as teaching my own Maritime Economics class to three different grades. This involved creating my own class plans as well as teaching the students different aspects of maritime economics, that ranged from the basic principles; to how trade routes affect their daily lives in South Africa.

These have included jobs at the US Coast Guard Station repairing piles under their pier, Logistics in the moving and placement of stones for a jetty at Green Harbor beach in Marshfield Mass, and the demolishing and rebuilding of the wharf at the Black Falcon cruise terminal in Boston Mass.

  As a Rate for the experiential learning program I was in charge of 15 cadets from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. My role was an assistant to the faculty lead while the cadets visited different important locations around the United Kingdom, including Lloyd's of London the international insurance agency. The IMO the International Maritime Organization. The Port of Southhampton which included a tour of the Carnival Cruise ship Ventura. While there we also took part in a summer school experience with speakers from all corners of the Maritime industry who would talk to us about their careers, what they do on a daily basis, and how their career affects the industry.
