  I was responsible for and have directly supervised yard crews, clerks, and all other employees working in the yard. Overseen work done in a safe, efficient, and economical manner, according to the rules, regulations, and instructions of the railroad. I ensured the prompt and regular movement of cars, especially the proper makeup of trains and their movement into and out of Bailey Terminal and my yard. Run Thru Yardmaster • Signal engineers to begin train runs, stop trains, or change speed, using telecommunications equipment or hand signals. • Direct conductors and engineers to move cars to fit planned train configurations, combining or separating cars to make up or break up trains. Humpmaster • Observe yard traffic to determine tracks available to accommodate inbound and outbound traffic. • Keep records of the contents and destination of each train car, and make sure that cars are added or removed at proper points on routes. Trim Yardmaster • Direct and instruct workers engaged in yard activities, such as switching tracks, coupling and uncoupling cars, routing inbound and outbound traffic and confirms routes and destination information for freight cars. Coal Spare Yard Yardmaster Powder River Coal Train Operations/RC Units Intermodal Yardmaster Van Yard, RC Units and Terminal Intermodal Work I had a unique position with the railroad where I was assigned trains that come into the world largest railroad yard. This World's Largest Railroad Terminal was handling interstate commerce that comes from and in route to a nation-wide connection of railroads. I had spent 20 years mentoring in safety and rules compliance to those around Intermodal terminals such as Seattle and railroad terminals such as North Platte’s Bailey Terminal.   Advise management on recruitment strategies, sources, and special programs, recruitment, relocation, and retention incentive programs. Provide guidance on merit system principles, prohibited personnel practices, and the development and use of valid selection criteria.
