  I teach all brass instruments at a beginner level, and offer tuition to trumpet players up to an advanced level. I also teach piano and music theory.As a student at RAM, I studied for the Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music Diploma (LRAM), an internationally recognised teaching qualification, which provides a comprehensive introduction to the principles of teaching through practical work. I passed with Distinction in June 2007.I teach in schools as well as offering private tuition.   Trumpet dep with Rubber Soul. Tony Lewis and I became acquainted over Twitter as we were both arranging horn section charts for new songs for function bands at the time, and when he needed a dep, he booked me. I've since worked with the band as a dep when required and continue to do so, along with other function bands on a regular basis.

  Sound Roots is our own in-house Music Service, supplying peripatetic tutors to provide instrumental lessons, along with the the necessary administrative support to ensure this burden is not placed on schools or parents, and as such we have built a great relationship with a number of schools, allowing us to facilitate the provision of instrumental lessons for many students. We also work in close contact with Music Hubs to help ensure all children have equal access to instrumental lessons, by accessing government funding designed to provide free lessons in schools. In our role we correspond with schools, Music Hubs, parents and tutors, prepare timetables and invoices and facilitate in the provision of free ‘loan’ instruments for funded instrumental tuition.
