As a SACSCOC and NASM-accredited Bachelor of Arts, the Commercial Music degree allows students to choose 1 of 4 areas of concentration: Music Production, Music Industry, Songwriting, and Performance. The program has strategic partnerships with Avid and Audinate to provide Music Production students industry-recognized credentialing in Pro Tools and Dante. Our Music Industry concentration collaborates with Samford’s School of Business to allow graduates the option to pursue a fast-tracked 5th year MBA.Responsibilities include developing curricula and teaching courses to students across multiple undergraduate programs, increasing and sustaining student enrollment through recruitment, developing continuing education opportunities and professional networks for student musicians across the US, fundraising through grant awards and endowment giving, directing music ensembles, developing strategic partnerships with key music industry corporations and personnel, serving on university committees and faculty senate, collaborating with colleagues across disciplines, and serving the larger community with strategic, student partnerships.
