  Serve as the Emergency Manager for the City of Gainesville as well as accreditation and grant management for the fire department. Responsibilities under emergency management include: Preparation, maintenance, and implementation of the City's Comprehensive Emergency Operations Plan, development and delivery of emergency management exercises and drills, coordination and team building between all City departments and external partners, and the general oversight of all activities under preparation, response, recovery and mitigation.Responsible for these activities prior to the creation of my current position: District Chief-Emergency Manager, from November 1, 2015 to 2017. Show less Time spent as a Lieutenant was enriching as it allowed the professional development in areas within the fire department including: fire ground operations, fire ground command, special operations incident management and program management, emergency management program development and management, accreditation management, and grant management.In 2011, I served as the Interim Special Operation Chief for a total of 10.5 months where I managed and coordinated the Special Operations for Gainesville Fire Rescue including Hazardous Materials, Technical Rescue, and Emergency Medical Services.In November 2014 I assumed the role of Assistant Emergency Manager and worked with the Emergency Manager to develop and strengthen that program. In November 2015 I moved into Administration and served as the City's Emergency Manager and department Accreditation Manager and Grants Manager until being promoted to District Chief in September of 2017.
