    • M. J. Electric, LLC

      May 2015 - Aug 2015
      Estimating Intern

While at MJ, I worked in the Drilling Division estimating pole and pad foundations. I assembled bid packages (ranging from $100,000 to $20,000,000) primarily using Access, Excel and Google Earth. I was required to analyze substation and transmission drawings for quantity takeoffs and determine the constructability of each project. I also visited the jobsite often. In my last weeks there, I helped to find a solution for some foundation failures they were having in certain soil conditions.

    • VIA RAIL ENGINEERING INC

      May 2016 - Aug 2016
      Design Intern

During my internship with Via Rail Engineering, I worked as a design intern creating railroad alignments for industry track connections utilizing MicroStation. I collaborated with my coworkers to keep the safety and reliability of my designs a priority. I also calculated cost estimates and received bids for projects. I was fortunate to spend time in the field surveying and staking out locations as well.

    • REMPREX, LLC

      May 2017 - Aug 2017
      Construction Management Intern

While working for Remprex Engineering Services, I was fortunate to gain valuable experience in the office and the field. The summer started with assembling drawing sets and fixing detail sheets in MicroStation for various projects around Chicago. I was also entrusted with designing a camera mounting bracket for implementation of a new technology. For the second half of the summer, I was asked to perform as the Resident Engineer for a project at Logistics Park Chicago. While there, I upheld site safety to BNSF standards, directed construction activities, and executed all concrete testing. Show less

    • Parsons Corporation

      Jun 2018 - Oct 2021
      Associate Civil Engineer

      - Memphis International Airport (MEM) Project Involvement: - Assistant Managed Construction of a $202M, 145 Acre, Central Deicing Facility. (May 2020 – Oct 2021) This immense state of the art facility included (12) wide-body aircraft Deicing Bays with underground glycol delivery and variable blending. The project required immense coordination due to the temporary closures of major taxiways, relocation of a critical public roadway, complicated integrated systems, and the need to maintain a secure TSA perimeter. I was able to recognize major gaps in the taxiway lighting electrical circuiting, fiber optic network, and perimeter fencing with enough time for the issues to be corrected by the engineer before those elements were constructed. - Managed Construction of a $43M, 22 Acre, 120,000 SF Airfield Maintenance and Operations Support Facility. (Jul 2018 – Jul 2021) This complex tilt-up concrete panel facility was built to house (6) diverse Departments, making this project a challenge. Key components of the project (UPS System, PA System, Catering Kitchen, Fire Alarm components, fiber connections, etc.) were designer omitted and I was able to recognize the issues early enough to add these scopes to the project with minimal impacts to schedule. The entire north side of the site also had to be significantly re-designed due to utility conflicts and I was vital to the final layout. - Managed Construction of a $0.9M Substation 5B project (Aug 2019 – Sep 2020) that included new electrical service for (8) jet bridges. This project required heavy coordination with the Concourse Modernization project. - Assistant Managed Construction of a $26M, 47 Acre, 48,000 SF (six buildings) Consolidated Rental Car Maintenance Facility. (Jun 2018 – Jul 2019) I was vital to correcting drainage and vehicular access problems at project completion. Show less
