As a project sub-consultant, the landscape architects worked closely with project engineers to create a setting for the river to emerge from an underground flume and to pass through a three-block long urban park flanked by walkways, overlooks, a multi-purpose amphitheater space, gathering and sitting areas until it merges with tidal water before returning to the flume to pass under the railroad station and into the Hudson River. The planting design emphasizes native raparian and upland zones and a total of 13,775 square feet of aquatic habitat was created. Separate rock placement plans were also provided to capture the feel of a natural waterway. Show less
