      As IT Director I had the opportunity to make an even greater impact on the company and day to day operations at Ashley Lynn's. In addition to the responsibilities I was previously handling I was responsible for establishing, planning and administering the overall policies and goals for the IT department. I was the primary project manager for all IT related projects. I was responsible for the hiring and management of all IT staff. I developed, maintained and optimized vendor relationships including contract, rate and service negotiations.Management Experience:IT Department Management• Managed an IT department consisting 3 IT department employees.• Managed IT and network support for 18 remote locations in 4 different states.• Managed approximately 100 workstations and 4 servers throughout the company.• Responsible for analyzing, establishing and presenting the future goals of the IT department to company executives.Help Desk Solution• Responsible for researching and procuring services offered by multiple vendors and analyzing appropriate and cost-effective solutions to enhance and streamline internal functions.• Met, interviewed and developed relationships with vendors before contracting partners.• Presented vendor and contract risks to Executive team. Solely responsible for entering into approved vendor contracts and determining contingency standards.Database Hosting Solution• Directed the company to consider an outsourced hosting solution to improve customer and company data security as well as improve reliability of the front counter POS database system.• Responsible for contacting possible vendors, analyzing services and recommending a partner.• Decided to partner with a leading technology firm and took a project management role in preparing and implementing the transition. Show less At the completion of my internship with Ashley Lynn's I was offered a position as a System's Analyst. In my new role I expanded the work I was doing as an intern. I became the primary system administrator for the SunLync POS system. I took over all vendor relationships with all of the companies IT vendor's. Most importantly I began analyzing the existing systems and processes and made recommendations on how to automate the existing systems and processes to make daily activity more efficient and effective.The first project I took on was redesigning the Ashley Lynn's intranet site. I brought hosting of the corporate site in house. I added functionality to the intranet site to make work tasks more efficient for retail managers. The site included a message board that was used daily by maintenance staff, retail staff and corporate staff. The site included a web form that was used by each retail location to insert daily sales data into a database which was then used by the accounting department to automatically import data into Quickbooks. This automation was estimated to save the accounting department approximately 40+ hours per month.Another critical project that I lead was the corporate reporting automation project. All operational reports in the company were being generated manually. I developed functionality that automated the task of pulling data for reports. The system was deisnged to automatically run critical corporate reports at specific times throughout the day and email the appropriate recipients with an excel attachment of the reports. This new system saved the company the cost of one full time staffed position. Show less As the Ashley Lynn's IT Intern I assisted providing IT support to 11 retail locations in two states. I helped administer the SunLync POS system by contacting vendor support when needed as well as maintaining the SunLync database. I also assisted in the installation, setup and troubleshooting of computer hardware and software.My primary project as the IT intern was to work on the Ashley Lynn's Distance Learning Project. The business had a need for a distance learning platform to efficiently train employees in multiple remote locations. It was my recommendation to design the distance learning system rather than using a packaged training platform.By the end of my internship I had developed a new website where training presentations could be viewed and employee's would be tested on the presentations. The website used PHP with a MySQL back end. The MySQL database was designed to keep track of individual user login credentials, employee test scores, and employee progress. All presentations were created using Adobe Flash. The website included management reports to track the progress of retail employees as well as assist the training department in pinpointing areas of focus for future modules. Show less
