As a Full-Stack Developer at NextEra Energy Inc., I leverage modern cloud technologies, particularly AWS serverless services, to drive innovation, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency. I am part of a team driving the development of a brand-new web application from the ground up. We harness the cutting-edge capabilities of Next.js as our main framework. My responsibilities encompass the design, development, and optimization of scalable, cost-effective, and resilient cloud-native applications and services. This commitment to embracing cutting-edge cloud methodologies underscores our dedication to staying ahead of industry trends and continuously improving our technological capabilities. I am very happy to be at the forefront of transforming our technology stack, harnessing the power of serverless computing on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform. It's a thrilling journey that allows us to remain agile, competitive, and better equipped to meet the evolving needs of our organization and industry Show less As part of the Reliability Analytics Team (RANT) working as a Data Scientist, I use my technical skills and analytical mindset to tackle complex business problems. I work with various datasets, including time-series data, unstructured data, and machine data in order to derive insights and inspire business decisions by utilizing a range of techniques, such as statistical modeling and data visualization. Additionally, my team collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, such as engineering, operations, and finance, to ensure that our solutions are aligned with business needs and drive real value for the company. Show less After transition to NextEra Energy's Distributed Generations (DG) department as a full-time intern for fall and early spring, I collaborated with team members on a Java project and gained valuable experience in agile methodologies. I also honed my Linux skills since the Java app was deployed within the AWS cloud. Furthermore, I built upon a Docker image that can be used to create a container serving as a development environment that mimics the AWS Glue job wherein our company AWS credentials were actually available for use inside it. My work on this Docker project helped improve the development workflow for the team and made it easier for them to deploy new processes inside existing Glue jobs. Show less I worked as a full-time developer during the summer for Nextera Energy's Power Generation Division (PGD), specifically in Asset Operations. I wrote automations using Python to validate asset functionality for solar panels; and batteries in terms of energy storage. I utilized a company-made API to gather the information/metrics I needed in order to facilitate the validations. Assets would pass/fail validation based on specific criteria which I would love to talk about to whoever is interested. Through this role, I also gained hands-on experience with DevOps procedures in order to properly deploy the code and ensure full functionality and automation without the need for any human intervention. Notably, there were thousands to ten thousands worth of new assets to validate in each asset list, so proper handling was needed. I took on creating this automation from scratch, and played an instrumental role in doing Knowledge Transfer to fellow team-members, so the code can be expanded on and maintained after my transition into a different team as a fall intern.
