Involved in decision making about Office location and changes, direction of the future of the company and fundraising opportunities in my capacity as a workshop Facilitator, Teacher and Art Therapist. Art Facilitator running Art and Drama workshops with children from 0 - 16. The workshops were designed to encourage confidence building, speech and language development and friendships amongst the participants. Each workshop is built around classic stories such as Charlie and the Chocolate factory or Where the Wild Things Are.

  As part of this role I was given the opportunity to set up an Art Therapy service from scratch with extensive external support to do so. There was no therapeutic service within the school of this kind and many children who could potentially benefit from it. I was able to provide staff training on Art Therapy and attachment theory which led onto lots of appropriate referrals. I also had the opportunity to plan and deliver the service, meeting with other professionals (both internal and external), cost and order art materials, organise confidential storage and an appropriate room for the work to take place. Given that it was somewhere I was already working as a teacher, I had to examine and consider each referral carefully for a conflict of interests or confusion for the child through a prior relationship with myself.   In this role I worked within a multidisciplinary team supporting children with moderate to severe Learning Disabilities who were referred to the Challenging Behaviour and Learning Difficulties CAMHS team. I delivered a range of therapeutic interventions and family support for children ranging from 6 to 17 as the lead clinician, both at school and in a clinic setting. I had the opportunity to support Looked After Children, Foster Placements and carers, work with those with early childhood trauma and a history of abuse, liaise with schools and Social workers, facilitate meetings with a range of professionals and gain experience of NHS environments, referrals and referral process.
